This Literacy Level 1 Do-it-Yourself (DIY) Sentence Template, "Thing: I Want", revolves around the learner’s favo(u)rite (frequently requested) things — all of which would be either interesting and/or familiar, and hence meaningful and relevant, to the learner.
 
With this worksheet template, learners will:
Learn to spell, read, and write the words corresponding to the things he/she wants.
Learn sentences that begin with “I want...” (through reading and writing) to request for the things he/she wants.
Learn to respond to the question “What do you want?” with “I want...” (through reading and writing) to request for the things he/she wants.
 
Targeted Learner
Young learners (aged 5 and above) OR older learners with moderate to severe learning difficulties, who have a basic command of the alphabets.
