A Breakthrough in Connecting with Profoundly Autistic Individuals: Introducing EpiEco

EpiEco: A Breakthrough Approach on Autism is an ebook that took me four months to write, the approach nine years to concretise, and a lifetime of learning to strive to be a worthy champion of Sebastien, my profoundly autistic son. 

Unlike traditional autism treatment approaches, EpiEco is not about normalizing the profoundly autistic individual. Rather, it places the responsibility of change on us — the caregivers (be it specialists, educators, and family) and the public. The focus is on transforming caregivers into a robust Ecosystem of committed champions of the profoundly autistic individual at the Epicenter, hence the name, EpiEco. 

However, EpiEco is just the first step of a mission to educate and train caregivers and the public on how they can properly support profoundly autistic individuals by building authentic relationships with them based on an accurate and respectful understanding of their singular way of being and communicating, which diverges significantly from the norm. This is a mission that I will continue to embrace for the rest of my life.
